# Uninstalling (/docs/using/uninstall)

Free your license, keep your rules, then remove PPROLint from Premiere Pro.

## 1. Free the license [#1-free-the-license]

Deactivate PPROLint in the panel's **License Settings** dialog, so the license is free for another computer. If you forgot, aescripts can free it: see [Your license](/docs/using/license#move-deactivate-refunds).

## 2. Keep your rules [#2-keep-your-rules]

Your own rules and your changes to built-in rules are files in the rules folder of PPROLint. To keep them, open **Settings > Rules > Open rules folder** and copy the `*.rule.json` files somewhere else. Removing the plugin may remove that folder with it.

## 3. Remove the plugin [#3-remove-the-plugin]

In the Creative Cloud desktop app, open the list of your installed plugins, find PPROLint and uninstall it from its menu. Plugins installed from a `.ccx` file are listed there too.

Restart Premiere Pro: the PPROLint panels are gone from **Window > UXP Plugins**.

Your license stays valid: reinstall PPROLint and [activate it](/docs/using/license#activate) again whenever you like.
